Dandelion for Skincare
Using Dandelions in Your Skincare
- They contain lots of antioxidants such as vitamin C.
- They are anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory. They can help minimize skin irritation and inflammation.
- Use for rashes, eczema, psoriasis, and acne.
-Great for sensitive skin.
-The sap in the stems is also useful. Use it for age spots, warts, skin inflammation, insect bites and pimples.
-They increase your skin's hydration and help sustain functions of the skin as they contain magnesium, phosphorus, calcium and potassium.
-They aid in collagen production.
You can use dandelions in many different skincare products including balm, and oils. But one of my favorites is in a spray that you can use as a skin refresher or toner.
You will need:
a spray bottle
essential oils
optional: glycerin, aloe, or your favorite oil
one of the following: a dandelion hydrosol, dandelion tea, or dandelion infused witch hazel. For the hydrosol, I like to use fresh flowers, for the tea, you can use either. For the witch hazel you will want to soak dried dandelions in witch hazel for about a week before making your spray.
Directions:
Using a small funnel, pour a teaspoon of glycerin, aloe or oil if you wish into a glass spray bottle. Add in your favorite essential oils and fill with tea, hydrosol or witch hazel.
