Energizing Aromatherapy with Grapefruit

Get Refreshed and Revitalized with Grapefruit this Summer

Try these aromatherapy ideas and essential oil blends to refresh you this summer.

Grapefruit is Uplifting

Grapefruit is revitalizing, refreshing and cheering. It is great to use to help combat the winter blues, help alleviate stress, and revive and stimulate when you need that pick me up. You will want to check with your doctor if you take certain medications like ones for antidepression or blood pressure.

6 Ways to Utilize Aromatherapy

Diffusion

There are different types of diffusers you can use. You might like to try one of these:

Ultrasonic Diffuser: Uses water and ultrasonic waves to disperse essential oils into the air.

Nebulizing Diffuser: Breaks down essential oils into tiny particles for direct inhalation.

Heat Diffuser: Uses heat (like a candle or electric heater) to release the aroma of essential oils.

Evaporative Diffuser: Uses airflow (like a fan) to evaporate essential oils and disperse the scent.

Inhalation

Steam Inhalation - Boil water and pour into a mug or bowl. Add a little bit of cold water. Add essential oils and breathe over the steam with a towel over your head.

Direct Inhalation - Breathe in directly from the bottle.

Aromatherapy Inhaler - Purchase an aromatherapy inhaler from somewhere like amazon and add essential oils to the wicks. Breathe in anytime.

Aromatherapy Jewelry - Wear jewelry that you can drop essential oils on so you can smell them all day.

Topical

Massage - Add essential oils to your favorite carrier oil.

Baths - There are many ways to add essential oils to your bath including bath oil, salts, scrubs, cleansers, or bath bombs.

Compress - Soak a cloth in warm water and add essential oils. Apply it to affected area.

Skincare Products - Add essential oils to cleansers, oils, serums, toners, and moisturizers.

Household

Cleaning - Use essential oils with baking soda before you vacuum to get rid of odors and add a nice scent. Make a kitchen or bathroom cleaner with vinegar, water, and essential oils.

Laundry - Add essential oils to white vinegar or unscented laundry detergent.

Room Sprays - Make a room spray with water, witch hazel, and essential oils.

Personal Care

Hair Care - Add essential oils to shampoo or conditioner, hair oil, spray, or hair rinse.

Perfume - Make your own perfume roller ball, or spray.

Lip Balm - Making lip balm with essential oils is fun and keeps your lips moisturized.

Emotional and Mental Health

Stress Relief - I make a balm with essential oils for stress relief and I also like to carry my aromatherapy inhaler. Try essential oils like orange, lemon, and bergamot. You might be interested in this post on using oils for anxiety.

Sleep Aid - Make a linen spray with water, witch hazel and essential oils like lavender, chamomile, or cedarwood. Or put them in a bedside diffuser.
